Creating Monsters

Joseph’s “coat of many colors” was given to him by his father, Jacob. Joseph’s brothers weren’t offered such an extravagant gift. On the surface, this seems harmless. Till you read the rest of the story.

Joseph became seemingly conceited in the dreams he received from God. Turning around and living in a form of pride which ultimately caused jealousy in his brothers. 

Joseph and the brothers obviously CHOSE to live out the pride and jealousy. They were all the master’s of their fate.

BUT it was Jacob that was creating the monsters. 

Jacob had managed the environments. While he didn’t commit the sins directly, he did steward the environments in which they grew.

The sins that bring down your kids or even the people you lead can be byproducts of the environments YOU create for them. 

Be careful not to create an environment that would unintentionally create sins or even addictions in those around you.
